Preschool Programs are offered for children ages 3 to 7 years. Program fee is $8 per child or $6 Friend of Hidden Lake Gardens members. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required, please call 517-431-2060 to register.
The Plants We Eat, Wednesday, September 28, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
How many plants do we eat each day? Fruit and nuts come from plants. Grains from plants like corn, wheat, rice, and oats are used to make break, cereal, and cookies. The vegetables we eat are plants, too. We will visit the conservatory to learn about tropcial plants that we can eat. Then enjoy a snack and make a craft to take home.
Autumn Adventure, Wednesday, October 26, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Fall is a fun time of the year. We can enjoy raking leaves (for piles to jump in), picking apples, and decoration pumpkins. And Halloween is just around the corner. Join us for a nature walk to see what autumn has to show us. We will collect colored leaves for a nature craft. A snack will be provided.
Preparing for Winter, Wednesday, November 16, 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Burrr! It will soon be getting cold outside. Where do all the animals go? What happened to all of the flowers and leaves on the trees? Learn how nature prepares for winter. We will go outdoors and look for seaonsl changes. Please dress for the outdoors. Inside activities include a craft and a snack.
